EURUSD managed to hold above the 200 day moving average overnight...

§  EURUSD managed to hold above the 200 day moving average overnight and managed to trade slightly higher. Spain will present the 2013 budget today and Greek PM Samaras and his coalition leaders will meet today also on the new budget.


§  Stocks: Nikkei +0.10 %, Hang Seng +0.85 %, Shanghai Composite +1.35 %, Dow Jones -0.33 %, S+P500 -0.57 %


§  Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said the European monetary union is irreversible and pledged to take the necessary steps to get his country's economy back on track. "The roots of the European integration are deep and we are not going to go back," he said. "The advances sometimes are slow, but we must not forget that the institutions are working."


§  Spain will announce a series of economic reforms and a tight 2013 budget today.


§  ECB Liikanen said each country in the euro must manage its own public finances. * Says countries must have income to cover its expenses, borrowing costs * Says any bailouts must be strongly conditional * ECB's actions are conditional on any country asking for aid doing its own part; program is unlimited


§  The Federal Reserve should keep on with its current round of asset purchases until U.S. monthly jobs growth tops 200,000 for a couple of quarters, Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President Charles Evans said on Wednesday.


§  Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda said Japan will never budge on its ownership over islands in the East China Sea also claimed by China.


§  China's central bank added a net 365 billion yuan to the financial system this week as cash demand rises before a weeklong holiday. * The amount is the highest in Bloomberg data going back to 2008


§  Chinese industrial companies' profits dropped for a fifth month in August, adding to signs the nation's economic slowdown is extending into a seventh quarter.
